‘Aadhaar-hit’ gas delivery boys begin strike

HYDERABAD: Tough days are ahead for LPG customers as a large number of delivery boys go with an indefinite strike demanding more commission from agencies, affecting delivery of cylinders over the city.

You will find roughly 500 delivery boys within the city employed with 450-odd gas agencies. All of them will get an income of Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000, however, many agencies outlay cash commission close to Rs 10 per cylinder, rather than monthly salaries. Gas agencies stated they earn a commission of Rs 35 per cylinder in the oil companies and aren't capable of pay more to delivery boys. "Delivery boys are demanding around 10% commission for every cylinder, which when we adhere to brings lower curtains on the business," Ashok Kumar, leader from the Gas Dealers' Association, stated.

Civil supplies minister D Sridhar Babu stated though Aadhaar-based delivery guarantees transparency, system-related troubles are still on and should be resolved. Gas sellers stated they'd straighten out the issues through discussions. However, many clients stated they're getting a harrowing time as shipping are becoming postponed, with demands being switched lower or just being requested to hold back for days.
